Volunteer/Internship Opportunities

Fall Intern: It is not too late to apply for the Fall Internship with Cedar Valley Readers!

  • Description: Work with the CVR staff to customize your internship experience. If you want experience in programs, you can help in planning and implementing with the 6+ we currently have (including Little Free Library, Booking Brighter Futures, Reach Out and Read, Vision To Learn, etc.). If you are interested in nonprofit management, you can help us apply for grants! (unpaid internship)
  • Qualifications: College student with a focus in education, human services, nonprofit management or related field. Good written and verbal communication skills. Passion for literacy and helping children/families.

Spring Intern: Apply around July 2019. 

  • Same as above.

Summer Intern: Apply around March 2019.

  • Description: Work with the CVR staff in planning and implementing the Y Believe Summer Learning Academy, a 7-week program for children K-5. This free program includes STEM and literacy learning in the mornings, and recreation (music and physical activities) in the afternoon. Free breakfast, lunch, and snacks are included. There are also parent nights for parent engagement and weekly fieldtrips on Fridays. (unpaid internship)
  • Qualifications: College student with a focus in education, human services, nonprofit management or related field. Good written and verbal communication skills.
